Hey! How are you? Thank you so much for inquiring. I am honored that you emailed me. I am a full-time wedding photographer based in Central Ohio. I started Pipers Photography to care for and serve joyful brides and grooms that love each other and want a relaxed and fun wedding day with their families and friends. My husband, Scott, joined the business right before we got married in The Outer Banks. Scott brings his fun personality to the business & wedding days. He knows how to effortlessly join in on the groomsmen's conversations and put a boutonnière on!
I love to build lasting and real relationships with our couples. I can't wait to hear about your family vacation you take to the Outer Banks every summer, your Hawaiian honeymoon you are planning. Your fav coffee drink, love for Chick-fil-A, and the current book on your end table. Seriously, give me recommendations! I LOVE to try new books! Scott gave me a Kindle for Christmas because my bookshelf was running out of space!
My goal is to have you comfortable in front of the camera, so your personalities shine through in your pictures. I want you to have an excellent experience and look at your photos with joyful memories!
- KRISTA
I want you to meet the other half of Pipers Photography - my husband, Scott!
Scott is my second photographer on your wedding day. He hangs out with the guys, photographs all the grooms getting ready, and then continues the wedding day with me for the ceremony, portraits, reception, and all the fun times in between! He has been my second for 10 years!
The guys always RAVE how much they love working with Scott and how he fits right in with the guys on the wedding day. He is always cracking jokes and making everyone laugh! Our couples love our dynamic as a husband and wife photography team on the wedding day. On the wedding day, you will see him snapping photos, putting on boutonnières, helping with the famous veil photos, and chatting it up with your grandpa.
This is such a magical and amazing time in your life as a couple together. This is your first big milestone together and it should be celebrated by people you love and who love you.
We build lasting relationships with our couples because we actually care about you and your wedding day. We want to see you as relaxed, comfortable and genuine as possible in your photos. We want to easily capture the joy of your wedding day when you have a photographer you view as a friend taking your pictures versus a stranger that you do not connect with at all.
You two should be celebrated and your love celebrated. We are excited to join in on the celebration, meet all of the people that LOVE you so much and join in with them!

"Krista was amazing! She captured all of the photos we wanted from our engagement session to the big day. We also got the digital copies of our photos within a week of our wedding. We have received so many comments from friends and family that our photos were stunning!"
Kelsey & Kyle
"Absolutely obsessed with Krista and her husband! They both came to photograph our wedding day and I couldn’t be more grateful that we chose them! They are so kind and very knowledgeable. The photos came out absolutely stunning. I highly highly recommend. You will NOT regret it!"
Elenor & Drew
"I would just like to say how AMAZING Krista and Scott are! We are not very comfortable in front of the camera, but they made us so comfortable. From the engagement photos, to our wedding photos we could have not asked for anything more. We got married during COVID, and they supported us the whole way! Us, our family, and our friends are blown away about how amazing our photos are! We will absolutely be using Krista and Scott for all of our photo needs in the future!"
Jillian & Ben
"Krista and Scott are the best decision you’ll make on your wedding day. They are there to capture your most intimate moments that truly reflect you as a couple. They are easy going, on point, and truly have your back on your big day. I had complete trust in my photographers and was so glad to share my day with them. Krista also did our engagement session. We wanted a wintery wonderland photo session, which meant, we had to wait for snow! On a freezing snowy day, Krista found us the perfect location and took the most amazing photos of us. This goes to show you that she’d literally do anything to get the shot! If you’re still deciding on a photographer, look no further, you’ve found the one."
Becca & musa
" Krista and Scott were so amazing. They made everything so easy and we felt so comfortable around them. They are both so organized and there was always a game plan and schedule that we followed that was planned far in advanced before the wedding and I felt that was so helpful because I didn’t have to worry about figuring out things the day of the wedding. They took care of everything. The photos that were taken are photos that I will treasure for the rest of my life. They were so beautiful. I can’t even begin to tell you how genuine this couple is and how much they care. If I had to do my wedding all over again, I’d still pick them!"
Caylie and Ryan
"I could not have been happier with Krista’s work! She came out to our property in the country and took beautiful engagement photos and was very patient with our 2 dogs who also wanted to be in the pictures. On the wedding day She and her husband were so fun and easy to work with. The attention to detail was outstanding and the candid shots from the reception are great! We got our wedding photos back after 9 days!!!! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing photographer at a reasonable price! Thanks Krista!"
Krysten and josh
"My husband and I loved working with Krista and Scott! Krista is so sweet and calm and very easy to work with. She was great during our engagement pictures and drove over an hour to take them at my husband's family farm so he was a little more comfortable. They were both FABULOUS on the day of the wedding and we have so many amazing pictures to remember the day by. She went out of her way to help with the day-of timeline and picture line up. Absolutely amazing"
Julie & Jonathan
"Krista and Scott were amazing to work with. They were so attentive and worked so closely with us to meet every need! They exceeded our expectations. The photos were amazing and I would recommend them to all my friends and family.!"
Kaitlyn & Jeremy
" First of all I could not be happier with my decision to choose these two amazing people as our photographers. Krista made me feel at ease from the first moment we met and made the focus on what WE wanted! Never once, even during our elaborate DOUBLE requested location engagement session, did she make us feel like our ideas were a burden. She handled my crazy, fun, excitable, crazy, beautiful family with grace. Her and her husband captured moments I could only dream of. 100% recommend "
Caitlin & Johnny
Piper and her husband were such a great duo! The groomsmen loved working with him and Piper made me and my bridesmaids so comfortable. Piper always made sure to adjust me so everything was just right and it showed in the photos. They are so gorgeous and I cannot want to show them off to everyone!!

We’re big fans of engagement sessions for a few reasons. Not only do they allow you to get comfortable in front of the camera, they also give you the opportunity to showcase your personalities in a more casual setting that is significant to the two of you. We've created an entire guide dedicated to outfit tips, location ideas, timing considerations and more! Our couples love to dive into this guide before their session.
WHO WILL MAKE YOUR DAY INCREDIBLE
Over the years, we've learned the important role quality vendors play in creating a stress-free wedding day. We've worked with many of the vendors below and we can't recommend them enough! This is not a paid list - we chose these vendors for both the quality of their work as well as their professionalism on the actual wedding day.

That moment the Bride and Groom see each other for the first time on their wedding day is magical. And this is true whether the couple chooses to wait until the bride walks down the aisle or chooses to do a “first look’ prior to the ceremony.
First looks—a private moment couples choose to spend together prior to the wedding ceremony—have become more popular over the last few years. About half of our couples this year have chosen to do a first look.
While we consider ourselves people who value tradition, there are definitely a few good reasons to consider a first look. Here are 3 reasons to consider a ‘first look’:
Is a First Look Right for You?
Once the ceremony begins, the day takes off quickly. A ‘first look’ is an opportunity to enjoy some quiet time alone, enjoy each other’s company, and reflect on all this day means before your day takes off.
Wedding days can be a whirlwind and they tend to fly by. There’s much to do, and a lot of people to see and to catch up with. We always encourage our couples to take a few minutes every so often during their wedding to stop and soak in everything that’s happening.
1. A first look cuts through the chaos of the day.
When there is no first look, the majority of the pictures have to be taken after the ceremony. Family pictures are generally done as soon as the ceremony ends because it’s the easiest time to round everyone up. Next up is full bridal party, and then bride and groom portraits. This generally runs into cocktail hour.
A first look opens up time prior to the ceremony for full bridal party pictures and, sometimes, for a few bride and groom portraits (although we prefer to do bride and groom portraits at sunset). This allows the couple to get the most out of cocktail hour, which makes the rest of the evening feel less rushed.
2. IT MakeS more time for Pictures without sacrificing cocktail hour.
If you’re expecting poor weather on your wedding day, it might be best to plan on a first look because it gives you more options for pictures. If it’s pouring rain after the ceremony, you’ll be thankful you had pictures done in advance.
And reason 3b is for all you cryers out there. If you know the tears are going to fly the first time you see your other half the day of your wedding, a first look will give you time to freshen up before the ceremony.
First look or not, the first time you see each other on your wedding day will be special.
3. Avoid possible bad weather and/or have time to freshen-up after crying
You do not need to know if you want to do a first look when you book with us. We can figure it out later on when it is closer to your wedding date!

Sunset portraits have easily become our couples favorite time of the day during the reception and we love it too!
We steal you away for about 10-15 minutes for these portraits. This is a perfect time for you two to take a breather and enjoy your time together as husband and wife.
We figure out exactly when sunset is happening on the day of your wedding and plan to head outside about 30-45 minutes prior to sunset time.
We put the sunset portraits into the timeline and share it with the planner, DJ or Band to make sure everyone knows when it is happening. We also check in with important vendors a couple minutes before we take you outside.
These portraits become our couples favorite portraits and often hang in their homes. We hope you will enjoy these photos as much as our previous couples do! They are usually a little bit more romantic than the portraits done earlier in the day because of the soft dreamy light that arrives at sunset time.
We love capturing all the little details you've carefully chosen to be a part of your wedding day! Once we arrive at your wedding, we need about 30 minutes to capture and style details. We recommend choosing a getting ready location filled with natural light and, if possible, please keep the space free from trash and clutter.
It would be wonderful if you could put all of your rings, jewelry, shoes, veil purse, perfume, invitations and other keepsakes together in one spot for us. Please unwrap your dress but don't worry about styling it - we'll hang it in a beautiful spot!
Our couples receive a full detail checklist for bridal and groom details + a Groom Guide!
We know that often times, the wedding industry really only focuses on the bride. It can easily start to feel like this whole “wedding” thing is only about her but that couldn’t be further from the truth! You play a vital role here. If it weren’t for you, none of thise would be happening in the first place!Hey there Groom!!!
We know often times, the wedding industry really only focuses on the bride. It can easily start to feel like this whole “wedding” thing is only about her but that couldn’t be further from the truth! You play a vital role here. If it weren’t for you, none of this would be happening in the first place! You and her make an awesome team and we want to make sure you feel included and part of the process.
Having your photos taken isn’t always natural and can some times be more stressful than fun. The good news is, we’re committed to making your time with us not only natural and genuine but also enjoyable! Photography is a huge part of the wedding process and we want our couples to think back to their time with us and say, “That was so much easier than I thought it would be.... in fact, it was actually fun!”
Our couples receive a full Grooms Guide with more wedding day tips, honeymoon planning resources and detail list!
ALL of our grooms come into the engagement session a bit nervous and usually thinking its going to be a rough hour long experience and that they are SUPER awkward in front of the camera (They never are!) They ALWAYS say that they had a blast, the hour flew by and it makes them way less stressed about how the wedding day is going to go.
There is NO expectation for you to be a model (although who doesn't love a good GQ stare off into the distance!). I will work with you during the engagement session to get you and your bride comfortable and let your personalities shine through. On the wedding day you will be with Scott and he naturally blends right in with your buddies.
Thank you so much for taking the time to chat with me. I hope this mini resource guide has given you some tips for both your wedding day and engagement session! Feel free to email us any time at Pipersgallery@gmail.com
If you have any questions or would just like to chat, we're here for you. I send out a full guide to all of our official couples to help make the process of planning their wedding details much easier and less stressful. I hope you two become one of our "Official KP Couples"!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read through our guide!
